Mars- Instinct, Initiative, Anger, Sex, Passion and Drive
I’m feeling hot, hot, hot!!! Probably because I’ve been writing about Mars all day! With this being the planet of fire, passion, anger, physical exertion and drive, can you really blame me? Our Mars placement demonstrates the way in which we initiate, take risks and create momentum in our life. It also denotes an area we are extremely passionate about, as well as the manner in which we express our physical energy and sexuality. The significance in the chart can alter between men and women. Mars, being associated with Masculinity, can often reveal a man’s unique expression of the Divine Masculine. For women, Mars often represents their desires in a romantic partner. In saying this, we all have masculine and feminine energies within us, making Mars just as important for women in defining their individuality and personality. Mars in Aries
Woah! Everyone better watch out because you’re fiery, feisty, energetic and just a bit scary to those who are more on the timid side! When you want something you put all your energy behind getting it, which gives you an enormous amount of creativity, athletic ability and strong leadership skills. Calm down immediately! Take a deep breath and sighhhhhh. Ok. I’m making fun of you, but seriously sometimes you guys have too much energy for your own good! Especially the kind that makes you jittery, anxious and talkative! The great thing about this placement is you tend have an enormous amount of energy to devote to learning, writing, thinking and talking. You’re interests are likely to be diverse, such that you always have something to say about a huge range of topics. However, you can get a little scattered sometimes and painfully bored! You tend to get depressed and run down when you have nothing to do, yet show the most energy when busy. Exercise can help, and you may have a talent for martial arts or dance, anything that requires flexibility. Oooh, I like this placement! It’s an incredibly intense, darkly compelling placement. If you’re Mars is in Scorpio you ooze sexual energy, power, control and mystery. But this placement can be amazing or pure hell, depending on whether you express the energy in its exalted or lower forms. There can be a tendency to want to control or manipulate situations to ensure you maintain a sense of power. This often comes as a result of losing a connection to the vast, inner well of power that resides within in you, leading to issues in trusting people and life. I LOVE this placement! This is absolutely my favourite position for Mars, but I am highly biased. This is my Mars position. Mars generally shows an area in which we have a lot of energy to devote. With Sagittarius this gives an intense passion for learning, expansion of the mind, the pursuit of truth, travel, adventure, exploration, the Earth, spirituality, freedom and human rights. People with this placement can have a diverse set of interests, but a common desire is to keep moving, proactively making change in their environment, while growing as a person. If this is your placement, you are a true explorer, always searching for greater horizons. As well as a talent for knowledge and mental pursuits, it’s likely you also have a love for physical activity with a huge reservoir of energy! Sagittarius is half horse, so there can be a passion for running, bush walking and hiking- anything that gets those strong legs galloping forward! I know this is definitely the case for me! This gives people with this placement a powerful ability to create change and momentum in their life without being too rash or impatient. If your Mars is in Capricorn there really is no mountain you can’t climb, goal you can’t reach or obstacle you can’t overcome. Just be careful you don’t fall into the trap of being too serious. Allow yourself some fun now and then!
